By next week, we should have all the details as to what the Pixel 4 is capable of, but already, it feels like everyone has got enough idea about Google's flagship. The next generation of Pixel phones is easily the worst kept secret ever, having appeared in even more leaks than their predecessors.

However, that doesn't really mean there's nothing left to expect. Google might take the wraps off its long-rumored Pixel Watch at its hardware event, Oct. 15.

Now people have been wondering for years when the search giant will design its own smartwatch, as many were left unimpressed by Wear OS watches built on Google's wearables software platform. If Nikkei Asian Review sources are to be believed, however, it looks like the company has finally given in to the endless clamoring and made its own smartwatch - and it's going to be announced alongside the Pixel 4 next week!

What's sad is that the rumored Pixel Watch doesn't have leaks (yet) unlike the Pixel 4. We are virtually clueless as to how the watch looks like its features, availability, price, and even its official name. The publication's sources seem to have missed out on the scoop, although it's partial; this is all just wishful thinking.

This has happened before, by the way. There were rumors that a Pixel Watch was going to be announced at the hardware event last year before Tom's Guide broke the news that the company was choosing to focus on its partners' watches rather than make one of its own.

If a Pixel Watch doesn't make an appearance next week, we may have another exciting thing to watch out for: a 5G version of the Pixel 4. The same report by Nikkei claims that a 5G Pixel 4 may be shown as early as next week.

The standard Pixel 4 that's been confirmed to launch on Tuesday only has support for LTE. But Google has reportedly started "test production" on a version of the phone that's capable of 5G connectivity.

If a 5G phone manages to make its way at the Made By Google event, we're thinking it would only be an announcement, perhaps a teaser for a later launch. It's way too early for the device to show up, as the article implies that the development hasn't concluded yet.

What's clear is that Google seems to be gearing up for a 5G phone launch sometime next year before the 5G iPhone arrives in September. If the search engine giant makes it earlier, it could help the company get more attention for its Pixel phones.
