Recently, the Internet is flooded with leaks about "Overwatch 2," the majority of which are pointing to the game's announcement on Friday. Blizzard is holding BlizzCon 2019 on November one, and along with the anticipated announcement of "Diablo 4" is the rumored launch of the second iteration to the popular "Overwatch" game. A few days ago, a prominent tipster shared the release window of "Overwatch 2," and while it may appear vague, there is a way to narrow it down.

A Twitter user named Metro_OW, a credible tipster who has shared accurate leaks about "Overwatch" in the past shared more details about "Overwatch 2." The tipster also shared a rather vague release window detail of the heavily speculated sequel. Many fans are hoping that the upcoming sequel will be launched right after it was launched at BlizzCon 2019, however, the tipster thinks otherwise.

According to Metro_OW, Blizzard is targeting a 2020 release window for "Overwatch 2." We all know how much Blizzard has invested in the "Overwatch" League and the next season is scheduled until August 9, 2020. This will be followed by post-season playoffs and will end in the Grand Finals, which is usually held in September.

Releasing "Overwatch 2" could potentially disrupt Blizzard's plans for "Overwatch" esports. It only means that "Overwatch 2" might not arrive until the 2020 "Overwatch" League is still ongoing. It also means that we could probably see the arrival of the much-awaited sequel in October 2020 through December 2020.

Perhaps the highly likely release date would be somewhere in November 2020 just in time for the release of Sony's PlayStation 5 and Microsoft's Xbox Scarlett. Additionally, it makes sense for Blizzard to launch "Overwatch 2" on next-generation gaming consoles, making it a launch title for Xbox Scarlett and PlayStation 5. The November release date would also give "Overwatch" players one more year to go through all the seasonal events before the game is replaced by "Overwatch 2."

Several reports are claiming that "Overwatch 2" is not a sequel but more of a "Fortnite" like approach. Instead of "Overwatch 2," it should be "Overwatch: Chapter 2," rumors suggest. We have also read about different reports of a new hero coming to the sequel as well as new game modes, new maps, and a co-op PvE campaign.

All of these at this point are rumors and speculations, and we recommend taking these with a pinch of salt. "Overwatch 2" was earlier rumored to be in the works for unspecified platforms. But, if the latest claims are to be believed, it is going to be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett.
