A few days ago, MacRumors shared the leaked image linked to the 16-inch MacBook Pro. The image reveals a major change in the Touch Bar of Apple's upcoming premium laptop. The TouchID sensor, which previously appeared along with the touch bar is now on the far right and is a separate square.
The image also suggests that the redesigning of the full-length touch bar and the return of the escape key. Several rumors also claim that the 16-inch Macbook Pro from Apple will have a sharper display and a new butterfly keyboard, a major change from the problematic scissor-switch type keyboard. But, when is the bigger-display Apple laptop arriving?
In terms of timeline, speculations vary with some claiming that the much-awaited Apple laptop is arriving in Oct 2019 while others are expecting it in Q1 2020. That's fine, considering that Apple has not yet even confirmed the existence of the 16-inch MacBook Pro. However, it appears that several indicators are now suggesting that the device is already in the production pipeline.
Earlier, DigiTimes reported that Apple is anticipated to begin receiving large shipments of the 16-inch MacBook Pro in the fourth quarter of 2019. The Cupertino-based tech titan is reportedly getting the supply from the Taiwan-based tech company Quanta Computer. While the shipment could be the company's precautionary measure of the impending additional 15 percent import tariff due to the US-China trade year, it could also be a way of preparing the product for its imminent release.
TFI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo a few months ago, predicted that a premium Apple laptop might arrive in the second quarter of 2020. DigiTimes predicted that the 16-inch MacBook Pro would be released in October 2019, but we all know that it is no longer happening. Given the recent indicators, the earliest that we could see the premium laptop iteration from Apple could be in the first half of 2020.
Apple is rumored to release the iPhone SE 2 in the first quarter of 2020, along with the AR Glasses. In the second quarter, the Cupertino-based tech giant is anticipated to launch the 16-inch MacBook Pro, according to rumors.
