A few days ago, several reports claim that the Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G will not launch as scheduled. But, we now have an official confirmation that while the highly anticipated handset is not happening this year, it will arrive in 2020. The confirmation of the smartphone's launch window came directly from the horse's mouth.

Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing recently denies speculations that Redmi K30 5G is launching in December 2019. In a post on the Chinese social media outlet Weibo, the general manager highlights the 4G hotspot test recently conducted by China Mobile wherein multiple Xiaomi phones were recognized as fastest. Weibing adds that Redmi smartphones will work hard to achieve the highest quality in the premature 5G era.

The Redmi executive also mentions the Redmi K30 series at the end of his post and says that Redmi is a 5G pioneer in 2020. He ends his post with a 'see you at K30' note. Weibing's post on Weibo is the first-ever confirmation of a possible launch window of the highly anticipate Redmi K30 series. It was in August when we first heard rumors and speculations about the Redmi K30 series.

It was also the first time that Redmi's general manager officially revealed that the upcoming Redmi K30 series will have a 5G support. An earlier teaser of the highly awaited smartphone series hinted from Weibing confirmed the one-punch hole display of the Redmi K30. We also heard whispers that the pill-shaped punch-hole housing of the smartphone will feature dual front cameras.

At this point, we have no information when exactly the Redmi K30 series is releasing except for the 2020 launch window. If the upcoming smartphone will be released in the same timeline as the Redmi K20 series or the Redmi Mi 9T in western markets, Android Authority predicts that it might release in the first half of 2020. It is worth noting that Xiaomi Chief Executive Officer Lei Jun earlier shared that the company is planning to unleash a torrent of Xiaomi smartphones with 5g support.

These devices will be available on all price points. However, for the first half of 2020 all Xiaomi devices with a retail price of $285 and above will have 5G connectivity, the CEO revealed. Considering that Redmi's parent company Xiaomi is already hinting of its release, it is possible that the Redmi K30 series might arrive earlier than June.
