In 2020, Apple is anticipated to introduce a new set of groundbreaking products including the compact and cheaper iPhone SE 2, the rumored 5G supported iPhone 12 series, a new Apple Watch that can track sleep activities, and a wide range of accessories. It also seems like the Cupertino tech giant could make a massive push into augmented reality in 2020. The company is anticipated to release iPhones and iPads outfitted with 3D camera sensors, which will potentially set the stage for the arrival of the Apple AR Smartglasses.
iPad Pro with 3-D cameras
Rumors have it that Apple is planning to launch a new iPad in 2020 that will house a couple of camera sensors and a 3-D sensor. This product reportedly will make the creation of digital reconstructions of the world around the user possible, reveals Bloomberg's, Mark Gurman. The same prediction was earlier shared by reliable Apple tipster Ming-Chi Kuo who claimed that the new Apple iPad Pro would feature 3-D depth sensing.
Apple AirTags
Another product anticipated to arrive in 2020 is the accessory that will help users find lost items using their iPhones. The device reportedly named Apple AirTags will function just like the Bluetooth tracker Tile. It would come with a small tag that users could place on easily misplaced items like wallets and keys, revealed MacRumors and 9to4mac.
AirTags would work with the app on iPhones called Find My. Several references to the rumored accessory have been earlier found in the software of the Apple iPhone. Additionally, the accessory is rumored to use augmented reality to direct users toward the lost item.
Apple AR Smartglasses
The Cupertino juggernaut is also expected to launch a pair of augmented reality (AR) smartglasses in 2020. In October, Bloomberg reported that Apple is eyeing a 2020 release date for its latest smartglasses. However, several reports recently claimed that the launch of AR smartglasses might be delayed to 2023.
Instead, Apple will launch an AR/VR headset in 2021 or 2022. However, Ming-Chi Kuo noted that the Cupertino giant is currently working with third-party companies on smart glasses that could be launched in 2020. It is unclear at this point if Bloomberg and Ming-Chi Kuo are referring to the same or different products.
Services Bundle &Cheaper HomePod
Apple is expected to launch a services package that would bundle Apple News+, Apple Music, and Apple TV+. These three digital services, according to Bloomberg, will be available in one package in the company's bid to increase subscribers and dominate the particular market. Moreover, Apple is anticipated to launch a more affordable version of Apple HomePod next year.
The smart speaker reportedly comes with a couple of tweeters instead of seven found in the current version. A cheaper model would be more appealing to Apple consumers who were reluctant to purchase the current version that retails at $350.
