A popular jailbreaking tool now gets support for iOS 12.4. Pwn20wnd recently updated the Unc0ver jailbreaking tool with bug fixes and improvements, but it appears that the security researcher is not yet done. Earlier, he announced that Unc0ver is now working with iPhones running on A12 Bionic chip and below.

On the social networking site Twitter, Pwn20wnd shared last Sunday that Unc0verhas now iOS 12.4 support on beta. However, there was a shortage of beta testers because of an issue with Cydia impactor, which inevitably delayed the launch of the public beta. Interestingly, the latest update seems to be ready for public testing.

Pwn20wnd also updated the website of Unc0ver.dev as well as his personal GitHub page recently. Both now have download links for Unc0ver version 3.8.0 beta 1. This latest build integrates the tpf0 exploit developed by ZecOps to allow jailbreaking of Apple iOS 12.4.1 on all iPhones running on A12 Bionic chip. Prior to the newest update, Unc0ver can only jailbreak iOS 12.4.

For the uninitiated, Unc0ver is a semi-tethered jailbreaking tool that requires the user to run a PC utility to restore privileges following every reboot. One of the major reasons users shifted from Unc0ver to checkra1n is because of the former's limited support. Just like the previous launches of the jailbreaking tool, this one is in the beta phase and should be handled as such.

In other words, this is recommended for advanced developers and jailbreakers who are equipped in troubleshooting. Those that are not that equipped are advised to wait for the public release of Unc0ver version 3.8.0 patiently. At the time of publication, we have no official release window for the public release of the latest build of the jailbreaking tool.
