It is but expected that Samsung's next flagship bet will be designed to outgun the competition and one area that the Korean tech giant will focus on to achieve such a goal is the device's camera prowess. In line with this, a new leak suggested the Galaxy S11 will boast of the best shooting specs and features to be seen on the line ever.
The latest claims made by Ice Universe, the tipster known for his mostly accurate information on upcoming devices, pictured the Galaxy S11 as the best camera phone that Samsung will release. That's because the device will touch down with a telephoto camera that will dwarf over the competition, according to WCCFTech.
"Samsung will lead the high-pixel telephoto lens, and the telephoto cameras of the S11e, S11, and S11 + are not less than 48MP," the report quoted the Twitter post from Ice Universe.
If correct, this will be a huge leap from the 2019 models issued by the South Korean company. Both the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 jumped out of the box featuring a 12MP telephoto module, which delivered stunning improvements in picture quality.
With the 48MP sensor module, which the report said will likely employ pixel-binning techniques for top-notch still image generation, the assurance of capturing crisp and vibrant images will be boosted considerably.
It is understood that this telephoto sensor will be paired with the main sensor of 108MP for possibly all the Galaxy S11 models, 5X optical zoom, an ultra-wide shooter, a 3D Time-of-Flight module for depth detection, and optical image stabilization. The main promise of this premium camera setup is users can easily snap up photos without worrying about motion blurs.
Also, the Galaxy S11 shooter will surely take gorgeous portraits at a stepped-up level. And the same will be quite useful when utilized with augmented reality applications.
It is easy to see that the planned camera upgrade for the S11 is to make the device in close competition with handsets capable of recording celestial bodies without losing quality, as suggested by the telephoto lens with 5x zoom and a high-quality 48MP sensor.
Tech Radar said Samsung could possibly pack the S11 camera with features similar to the flagship handsets from Huawei and Google, which "enable [users] to take high-quality pictures not just of a starry sky, or the moon, but other planetary bodies too."
The confirmation on all these speculations will be provided hopefully on February 18, which GSM Arena said is the rumored date of introduction for the Samsung Galaxy S11 line. The actual release date will follow after a week or two, possibly in the first week of March 2020.
