Prince Andrew's troubles might be a blessing in disguise for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. A royal biographer believes that the Duke of York has opened the opportunity for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to exit the royal circus.
Royal biographer Robert Jobson discussed in the podcast program Heirpod that Prince Harry and Meghan were able to stay out of the media's eyes after Prince Andrew announced his resignation from his royal duties in November. Jobson believes that because of this decision, the path has now been laid out for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to leave the royal family as well. If not, they can now at least have some more flexibility in their future roles as royals.
Jobson said that there is no longer any pressure for Prince Harry and Meghan after what happened to Prince Andrew. With their father, Prince Charles, seemingly in charge, they could also tell the heir to the throne what they want to pursue as part of their future royal duties.
The royal expert sees that Prince Harry and Meghan could be spending half their time in the U.S. or somewhere else since they are further down the line of succession. Prince Charles might even help them fulfill this goal.
In a way, this will also allow Prince Charles to focus on grooming and helping the second in line to the throne. Prince William and Kate Middleton are touted to have more significant roles in The Firm next year.
Jobson's opinion is not far off from another royal expert. In the podcast show Pod Save the Queen, Russell Myers said that since the Duke of York is no longer performing his royal duties, other members of the family will be taking over his patronage, especially Prince William and Kate.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan just released a statement to confirm that they will be spending Christmas in Canada. The place is pretty special for the Duchess of Sussex because she lived in the Commonwealth state for seven years while working on her TV show, Suits.
Previously, Prince Harry and Meghan spent Thanksgiving with the duchess' mother Doria Ragland in Los Angeles. The Sussex royals, along with their seven-month-old son Archie Harrison, have been away from London since late November.
Prince Harry and Meghan have been missing the festivities and celebrations in London as they take their six-week holiday. Prince Andrew, on the other hand, has chosen to skip several events to keep away from the media spectacle.
