BTS successfully kicked off their new era with Suga’s “Interlude: Shadow” comeback trailer. Now, there’s only one thing on every ARMY’s lips — will it be J-Hope or Jungkook next?
There are a lot of theories about the upcoming “Ego” trailer. And since BTS is known for leaving easter eggs, many are now trying to crack the codes to know which member will be featured next. Some believe that a BTS Webtoon may have an answer to this curiosity.
Save Me is a 2019 webtoon produced by Big Hit Entertainment and LICO. After learning that BTS’ upcoming album is called MAP OF THE SOUL: 7, ARMYs began to connect one panel from the webtoon that led them to believe that Jungkook might be the one to be featured on “Ego.”
One BTS Save Me webtoon panel shows three names on the wall: Namjoon (RM), Yoongi (Suga), and Jungkook. Two of the members were already featured in previous trailers. RM in “Intro: Persona” and Suga in “Interlude: Shadow.” This leaves one member on the list — Jungkook.
As if that’s not enough, the names were written in a position that formed a horizontal number seven. (Check out the panel here). Seven is the next album of BTS. So if you put two and two together, there is a high chance that Jungkook is going to be the tone to be featured in “Ego.”
While this may sound farfetched, it is worth noting that ARMYs have been cracking a lot of codes based on BTS’ videos, performances, live broadcasts, etc., and they have been successful with it. ARMYs even predicted that BTS’s next album would have something to do with Carl Jung‘s “shadow” and “ego” archetypes. We now know that the two trailers for MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 are called “Shadow” and “Ego.”
Meanwhile, another popular theory is that J-Hope might be the next one to be featured in the upcoming “Ego” trailer. The reason behind this theory is based on the fact that J-Hope is a part of the “Rap Line” and two of the BTS rappers, RM and Suga, were already featured in “Intro: Persona” and “Interlude: Shadow.” So is “Ego” set for the last member of the “Rap Line”?
Also, eagle-eyed fans connected Suga’s “Interlude: Shadow” to one of J-Hope’s scenes in “Fake Love.” An Army then created a four-second clip to combine the two and it looked so real that it made sense.
So is it J-Hope or Jungkook next? We’ll just have to find out on February 3.
