Meghan Markle gifted Kate Middleton a beautiful bracelet during the early days of their relationship as sisters-in-law. The jewelry was, apparently, a "Thank You" gift from the Duchess of Sussex for Kate's help.

According to Daily Express, Meghan gave the Duchess of Cambridge the Kensington Bracelet, a gold bangle that was estimated to cost about £345. The piece was made Zofia Day, a jewelry store from California, and was named aptly named because Meghan was next-door neighbors to her sister-in-law at Kensington at that time.

According to People, the Kensington Bracelet was also part of Meghan's wedding favors to a small number of people who have helped her plan out her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018. The duchess personally took care of this bracelet's creation with the California jeweler and only five other people own this piece, including Kate and Meghan's best friends Jessica Mulroney and Benita Litt.

The bracelet, however, is not just the lone present Meghan has given to Kate. Daily Express reported that the Sussex royal also gave her sister-in-law a journal for her 35th birthday in 2017. It was a smart leather-bound diary that the Duchess of Cambridge apparently loved. She also gave Kate a present when they met for the very first time.

It's unclear, however, if Meghan gave Kate a present for her recent birthday. The Duchess of Cambridge turned 38 on Jan. 9, the day after Meghan and Prince Harry announced that they would like to step back from their royal duties.

Meanwhile, Kate has not yet said anything about the latest drama in the royal family after Queen Elizabeth said that Prince Harry and Meghan are free to live their lives in peace in Canada, away from the media scrutiny in the U.K. In doing so, however, Prince Harry and Meghan will no longer be called upon to represent the Queen at official functions even if they were still willing to do this.

News of the Sussex's departure have shed light on the fact that Kate and Meghan have been pitted against each other by the British tabloid media. In a survey from The Guardian, 43 percent of British newspapers apparently cover negative reports about the Duchess of Sussex, while only eight percent of the negative stories are about the Duchess of Cambridge.

Another analysis showed that 72 percent of the stories about Meghan from May 2018 to January 2019 were negative, while only 31 percent were critical of Kate. Several of these stories frame Megan as a publicity hound who has a questionable family background.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's main reason for withdrawing from the royal family was to avoid the media scrutiny.
