Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now reunited back in Canada, along with their firstborn son, Archie Harrison. After their six-week break from royal duties, they recently returned to London just to announce that they are now stepping back as senior royals and planning to become a "financially independent" royal household.

The surprising announcement that was made through the Sussex couple's official Instagram account has met with a lot of controversies and discussions. In the end, however, the senior members of the Royal Family, including especially Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles, have come to an agreement with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and finally gave their blessings to the couple's wishes.

The final agreement, though, is not the one that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle initially wanted. As per Express UK, the Duke and Duchess hoped to retain their status as official royals while they pursue "commercial opportunities."

But, instead, the agreement revealed that they will no longer officially represent Queen Elizabeth II. Also, the Duke of Sussex will have to "relinquish" his military titles. Even so, it was explained that while they will not use their HRH titles, the Queen decided to retain these titles.

In comparison with Princess Diana's official "royal split" in 1996, this was said to be the "key difference" between the two royal split events. This is because the Princess of Wales lost her HRH style after her divorce with Prince Charles became official.

According to Reader's Digest, there were a lot of things that the late Princess lost after her royal split. But, among all of these things, the police protection is another factor that made her exit even more different from that of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Based on claims, Princess Diana lost her intensive police protection. She was revealed to be able to use this only when she had public engagements that were related to the Royal Family.

What made this different from the Sussex couple's exit deal is that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's security detail and police protection now that they are no longer working royals in the United Kingdom has not been revealed yet to the public. Nevertheless, there have been speculations that the palace will still retain these things despite their official exit in the spring of 2020.

Between the two controversial royal exits, these things were noted as the main differences. Yet, it is still worth noting that the list may further increase as time passes by since the Sussex couple just got their official royal exit deal earlier this week.
