The official website of Sony's PlayStation 5 is now live, but at the time of this publishing, there is nothing much on it. Fans have been speculating since last year that the Japanese console maker might officially unveil the PS5 this month. However, it appears that the much-awaited official reveal might not happen sooner than anticipated.

PS5 Unveiling

Earlier this year, reports were claiming that Sony would officially unveil the PS5 in Feb. 2020. The hype continues to build when Sony made a reservation at Sony's Hall in New York. Now, Sony, on the official PS5 website, says something important about its next-generation gaming console's unveiling.

Sony says it is not yet ready to fully unveil the PlayStation 5. The Japanese console maker also assures fans that it will announce updates on the price, launch titles, and release date of the next generation gaming console. It also encourages people to sign up on their site to be the first to receive these updates.

PS5 Official Unveiling Not Happening?

It is worth mentioning that Sony announces that it could not 'fully' unveil the PS5 yet. The word fully seems to hint that it could unveil the PS5 but not all of it. A massive PlayStation 5 leak in 4Chan earlier revealed that Sony would be hosting an event on Feb. 5, 2020, to unveil the controller, the system, and critical aspects of their plan.

The anonymous tipster on 4Chan also shared that Sony would hold several events throughout the year to keep the hype alive. There would be another PS5 event close to the E3 2020 and two or three State of Plays for other PlayStation announcements and releases, the tipster added. It looks like the latest announcement from Sony aligns with what the tipster was saying about the PS5 unveiling.

If the leak on 4Chan is to go by, it appears that Sony would unveil the PS5 on a staggered basis. Perhaps the Japanese console maker could reveal some of its key aspects this month and several more in the coming months until the official release date. But, we would like to remind you that the massive leak on 4Chan did not disclose its source, and we have no way of verifying its veracity.

At this point, we would suggest not to get too excited about this leak. Meanwhile, the PS5 is scheduled to arrive sometime in the holiday of 2020. We would keep you posted on the latest updates about the PS5 as soon as we get exciting news.
