Following Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's decision to scale back on their royal life and move to Canada, new reports have emerged that the Duchess of Sussex's mother, Doria Ragland, could be relocating as well.
According to insiders, Doria has been spending a lot of time with Prince Harry, Meghan and Archie in their rented waterfront home in Vancouver, Canada, since Queen Elizabeth announced their change of royal roles. Sources said that Doria is actually enjoying the fact that she's able to spend a lot of time with her grandson, who is almost 10 months old. Will she decide to uproot her life in Los Angeles to live near her daughter, Prince Harry and Archie?
Doria, 63, works as a private yoga teacher in Los Angeles. She was Meghan's companion while Prince Harry stayed in London in early January to negotiate their exit in the royal family with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and Prince William.
A friend told People that Meghan gets her strength from her mother. She and Prince Harry have also been seeking her advice as they sorted out their dilemma in the royal family.
However, another source told Us Weekly that Doria is not planning on leaving Los Angeles to move to the British Columbia region. The source said that Meghan isn't very close to her mother despite public perception.
The source even added that Meghan actually saw Doria just two times a year when she was working on her TV show Suits, which filmed in Toronto nine months out of 12 in a year. Meghan worked on this show for six years before she met Prince Harry.
Meanwhile, another insider stated that Prince Harry and Meghan are planning to spend the coming summer in Los Angeles with Doria. Reports cited that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are scouting for a house in the area for their brief stay.
This means that Prince Harry and Meghan might not be flying back to London to attend royal family events like Princess Beatrice's wedding, which is expected in May, and the Trooping the Colours celebration in June. The couple might also be skipping a trip to Balmoral, Scotland for the royal family's annual tradition of staying in the Queen's estate for the summer.
In the first week of January, Prince Harry and Meghan said that they wish to live a peaceful life away from the media's scrutiny. As such, they said that they would like to step back from their royal duties.
