Those keeping track of the rumored iPhone SE 2, which is believed to debut as the iPhone 9, should be happy to know that the device will be coming out real soon. Apple is said to formally introduce the new handset on the last day of March, and the release date will follow shortly, specifically on April 3.
To make it clear, these details have yet to be confirmed by the Cupertino-based tech giant as the information originated from iPhone Ticker, a website that operates in Germany. It is interesting, however, that in the same content shared by the site, there were suggestions there will be other things that Apple may just unpack during the purported media event on March 31.
But it must be noted that the claim of the iPhone SE 2 coming out in April deviates from the earlier hints provided by well-known analyst Ming-chi Kuo. According to WCCFTech, Kuo has pointed to a March landing for the handset, which he also described as the most affordable of the 2020 iPhone series.
Why the two claims contradict is hard to figure out for now, but in terms of accuracy, it is Kuo that boasts of a higher incidence of forecasts that turned out to be true.
In any case, the same German website teased the possibility of Apple making available new products with the iPhone SE 2. One that should excite is the 2020 iPad Pro lineup, and if indeed the device will get unveiled, it is expected to be powered by a new mobile processor - the A14X Bionic chip, to be exact.
Another anticipated unboxing for the upcoming Apple media event is the smaller version of the recently introduced 16-inch MacBook Pro. There were talks that a MacBook Air with the new Magic Keyboard will be pushed out on the same day though it seems more realistic that another MacBook Pro will be impressing Apple fanboys.
The latest installment, however, will have a 13-inch display and still with the well-received Magic Keyboard.
It's possible too that a new version of iOS 13 will be out on the same day, still basing on the claims made by the German website. If indeed iOS 13.4 will drop as claimed, it is a scenario that is supported by the recent rollout of the mobile operating system's beta version.
BGR said iOS 13. 4 beta release was seeded by Apple a few weeks back so making it official in the coming weeks should not be surprising at all.
As for the iPhone SE 2, many are convinced the handset will be constructed using the iPhone 8 as a template but with modern components like the use of A13 Bionic that powers the iPhone 11 family. The SE 2 or iPhone 9 will hit the market at a starting price of $399.
