Actress Janina Gavankar's friendship with the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has withstood years of distance. Gavankar opened up that despite living apart for many years, her friendship with Meghan never changed.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Gavankar said that Meghan maintains her friendship by using FaceTime wherever she may be. The actress also said that the Duchess of Sussex is still the amazing friend that Gavankar came to know 16 years ago.

The two met as struggling actresses in Hollywood and Gavankar was one of the guests at Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding in 2018. In fact, she was seated close to Doria Ragland, Meghan's mother.

Gavankar was also the photographer behind Prince Harry and Meghan's first Christmas photo with their son Archie Harrison. The image attracted controversy because Meghan was accused of photoshopping it so that Prince Harry's face is blurry while hers is clearer.

The duchess' friend corrected the impression that the image was photoshopped to favor Meghan. Gavankar said that the original photo was never photoshopped as both Prince Harry and Meghan's faces were blurry against their son, who was the focus.

Meanwhile, Meghan is set to return to London in a matter of days to join her husband for their last royal engagements. On March 5, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be at the Endeavour Fund Awards for the veterans. Two days later, Prince Harry and Meghan will be t the Mountbatten Music Festival.

The Duchess of Sussex is also expected to grace the observance of International Women's Day on March 8. The following day, she and Prince Harry will join the rest of the royal family and Queen Elizabeth for Commonwealth Day.

Come April 1, Prince Harry and Meghan will stop representing Queen Elizabeth in official royal engagements. Instead, they will begin their new projects in North America. It's understood that Prince Harry and Meghan will be shifting their time in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. Their arrangement with the royal family will be reviewed after 12 months.

Meghan's return to London, however, is earning criticisms as she reportedly decided to fly back without baby Archie. Presenter Piers Morgan slammed the duchess for leaving her child to the babysitter.

However, viewers of Good Morning Britain said that it was a good decision for the Sussexes amid the coronavirus scare. It will be safer to leave Archie at home in Canada while his parents fulfill their last duties for the Queen.
