With the Government's advice to practice social distancing and avoid big gatherings, a lot of royal events are now canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak. From Queen Elizabeth II's grand birthday celebration to the weekly audience, everything is halted in fear of catching the disease. So, here is the list of canceled royal events due to the pandemic and the  lockdown of the United Kingdom

Trooping the Colour

Trooping the Colour was supposed to be held in June. However, as early as now, Buckingham Palace announced the event's cancellation. "In line with Government advice, it has been agreed that The Queen's Birthday Parade, also known as Trooping the Colour, will not go ahead in its traditional form," it said, via Hello! Magazine.

There are some ways to be considered to make the event possible. As Queen Elizabeth's birthday falls on April 21 and the official celebration is often held on another day, it remains to be seen what will take place.

Royal Garden Parties

Her Majesty opens the gates of Buckingham Palace and the Palace of Holyroodhouse for over 30,000 people for the annual summer garden parties. However, this, too, is now canceled due to the number of attendees that will be cramped up at the event, which will make the coronavirus quickly transmitted.

Japanese State Visit

Queen Elizabeth and Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako of Japan's meeting will also be canceled. After consultation with the Queen's Government and the Government of Japan, Her Royal Highness agreed to postpone the planned state visit to the U.K. in spring 2020. Their travel is said to be rescheduled at a later date.

Maundy Service

People magazine added that the Maundy Service is also canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak. Every year, Queen Elizabeth follows a tradition, which dates back to the 13th century, to distribute Maundy money on the Thursday before Easter.

Chelsea flower show

The Chelsea Flower Show as also called off because of the pandemic. As this event was supposed to run from May 19 to 23, it was expected to attract a lot of people. So to follow the Government's advice, this, too, needed to be canceled.

Royal Windsor Horse Show

Queen Elizabeth may be heartbroken to have the Royal Windsor Horse Show canceled. As she is known as a horse lover, it is a usual sight to see her in this event every year. Event organizers already confirmed that the equestrian show would not happen as scheduled this spring.

Weekly Audience

As Queen Elizabeth has to self-isolate to heed the Government's order, she moves to Windsor with her husband, Prince Philip. This means she can't attend the weekly audiences with Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who also tested positive for the coronavirus. However, she still continuously works after a published photo showed her meeting with the U.K. PM through a phone call.
