Oppo has been known to come up with unique phones with advanced specs through the years. One phone that most were looking forward to is the Oppo Ace 2 and the handset has now been made official. As expected, it carries some impressive features although the most notable one is its fast wireless charging ability.

Before jumping to the wireless charging capability, here are the main specs of the Oppo Ace 2. The successor of the Oppo Reno Ace will sport a 6.5-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution with a 90 Hz refresh rate and 180 Hz sampling rate. Under the hood, the Oppo Ace 2 will rely on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset and have provisions for 5G connectivity. There will be an 8 GB and 12 GB model available as well as 128 or 256 GB storage options.

As for the built-in cameras which Oppo has been fairly competing well, the Oppo Ace 2 will have a quartet of snappers. This includes a 48 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide snapper and two 2 MP portrait cameras. Upfront is a 16 MP selfie-shooter, something that selfie-taking individuals are likely to put to good use. But outside the usual camera-centric expectations, the Oppo Ace 2 offers something unique that could make it even more appealing to the market. And this could be in the fast wireless charging capabiltiy of the latest Oppo phone.

Keeping the Oppo Ace 2 powered up is a 4,000 mAh battery. As mentioned earlier, the fast wireless charging capability is something that most will want to know about. The 40W AirVOOC wireless charger can completely juice up the device in 56 minutes. To make sure its thermals are in check, the charging pad comes with provisions for added fans to keep its thermal in check. The bad news is that this will be sold separately.

For those who prefer the traditional wired charging, the Oppo Ace 2 battery supports 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast wired charging. If the wireless charging can give the phone a full charge in 56 minutes, wired charging should do it in lesser time. The Oppo Ace 2 will come pre-installed with Android 10 on and ColorOS 7.1 on top, GSM Arena reported.

Folks who plan to get the Oppo Ace 2 can choose from among three shades (grey, purple, and silver). The base model (8 GB/ 128 GB) will be priced at $565. The other configurations go up from there with the 8 GB / 256 GB variant retailing for $625 and the 12 GB / 256 GB priced at $650. Pre-orders for the Oppo Ace 2 are underway and the device is expected to hit stores by Apr. 20.
