Earlier this week, Donald Trump reportedly announced that the new guidelines for the reopening of the United States will be revealed before the public before the weekend. As it happened, the President of the United States shared during the White House briefing that the country has already passed the "peak" of the coronavirus pandemic.

In a report released by  BBC News, the US leader was said to deem that everyone will be the "comeback kids," claiming that all of the Americans have been wanting to get back to their normal lives. He then shared that while it is still important for the public to "remain vigilant," he said that the administration's "aggressive strategy" is working.

This reportedly comes after the data for new COVID-19 cases across the country has seen a "significant decline" these past few days. Although the battle continues, Donald Trump claimed that the nation has "passed the peak on new cases."

As stated, New York has recently seen a "decline" in new cases of COVID-19. It was noted that the city has the highest number of confirmed cases among all the countries outside the United States.

The city has now a total of 226,198 cases with over 16,700 deaths. Spain and Italy come next to the city with over 188,000 and 172,000 cases, respectively.

Donald Trump then attested that the new cases in Denver and Detroit are now "flat." In Baltimore and Philadelphia, the largest cities of Maryland and Pennsylvania were said to have shown "great signs of success."

Meanwhile, it was revealed that there is a growing concern for Providence, Rhode Island. As explained, the situation in the city is "unique" since it lies between New York and Boston. Nevertheless, the data, in totality, was said to show improvements.

According to CNBC, the Coronavirus Response Coordinator, Dr. Deborah Birx also shared that over nine states of the country have less than 1,000 new cases per day in the last few days. She continued that the cases in these areas reported 30 cases fewer than the average.

Similar to Donald Trump's advice to the public, the response coordinator encouraged everyone that this is "now" the time to "continue" practicing the guidelines given by the officials. "Continue to follow the presidential guidelines," she added.

As of the time of writing, the United States has a total of 690,900 confirmed cases of COVID-19. As for the number of deaths, the country's number has now reached more than 35,000.
