Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were slammed for snubbing Australian Rural Fire Services’ request. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were asked for their permission to name a tanker after Archie but they refused, stating that their son is "not part of public life."

Now, it appears that Prince William and Kate Middleton are trying to make up for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s PR disaster. A new report revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are discussing with the Australian Government to visit bushfire-ravaged communities.

Since Prince William and Kate Middleton are currently following the lockdown rules, they can’t obviously go to Australia. However, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are actively raising funds for volunteer firefighters and survivors.

"Kate and William were going to go out and visit after the bushfires to show their support to Australia,” royal expert Angela Mollard said. ”And here's Harry and Meghan not letting a tanker be named after their son. It's petulant and unnecessary, does it harm him? I don't think it names harms him at all."

Angela Mollard criticized Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for their refusal of Australian Rural Fire Services’ request. She also explained the reason why naming the tanker Archie was not just a random idea, but it has meaning behind it.

"Massive snub to Australia. The royal fire service revealed they wanted to name an air tanker after Archie,” she said. ”These are the air tankers which were so useful during the bushfires where they were dropping water. The reason they wanted to call this new air tanker Archie was because Meghan announced her pregnancy was in Australia and they thought it would be a lovely thing that when Archie grows up and comes to Australia, he would see his namesake.”

The royal expert then noted that even though Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said that they didn’t want to make their son a public figure, they launched a foundation using a name that they shared inspired them to call their son Archie.

“They wrote to Harry and Meghan and asked if it would be ok and they said Archie isn't part of public life and they couldn't use the name,” she said. "This is, of course, the same week that Harry and Meghan announced that they're using the name Archewell as their new corporate charity institution they've set up. They're happy to repurpose his name and the meaning of his name in their own endeavors.”
