Apple's iPad Air is the alternative that some folks would prefer if the iPad Pro is out of their budget. The features that this tablet carries may not be as plenty compared to the high-end ones but it does help folks carry out their daily routines and itineraries.

The iPad Air is something that most feel needs a redesign. And if recent leaks are correct, the 2020 iPad Air may come with some advanced and helpful iterations. This would include a bigger high-end display and a familiar biometric security feature that most phones are using at the moment.

First is the display. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had already hinted of a redesigned iPad Air in the past and that it will come with a mini-LED display. Thanks to leaker L0vetodream via Twitter, this is one of the features to expect. Even better, the 2020 iPad Air will come with a bigger 10.2-inch screen to deliver better display in a larger view to potential owners.

Accounting for more display space is that the 2020 iPad Air will reportedly do away with the iconic notch. With that gone, some may ask how will they be able to unlock their tablets? That brings us to the other new feature that the Apple tablet will reportedly be coming out with.

L0vetodream also mentioned how the 2020 iPad Air will come out with an in-screen biometric security feature. The tablet will not have a Face ID feature. The under the screen sensors are beneath the screens and different from the traditional ones used in most devices. All a user has to do is press the screen where authentication is done through light signals.

Other than those, other features (particularly) under the hood remain scarce. There is a growing belief that the processor and the RAM count could get a boost, MacWorld UK reported. The next iPad could come armed with an A13 SoC, replacing the previous A12 chips. The last model had 3 GB onboard so a jump to 4 GB could make sense. Pricing is a mystery as well and most are hoping that it does not have a significant jump from the 2019 iPad Air models where the most expensive one (256 GB) costs $779.

Aesthetically, the 2020 iPad Air may look fairly close to the iPad Pro. Some features may be absent but for as long as it allows people to carry out their daily routines, it is a cost-friendly alternative to consider.
