The name DJI has become a staple in the commercial drone industry. Just recently, the Chinese drone maker unveils the DJI Mavic Air 2, which is available for purchase on its official website now. The new commercial drone is packed with superior portability, power, and advanced features.
The new DJI Mavic Air 2 is the easiest to fly non-professional drone, and is, by far, the safest installment from the Chinese drone maker. It is equipped with a wide range of sensors that enable it to avoid obstacles. It also features the latest pilot-friendly controller and a clamp for smartphones.
Unlike its predecessor, the new DJI Mavic Air 2 has a much larger battery that allows users to fly the drone for 34 minutes. But, one of its weaknesses is the lack of IR sensors, which gives a professional edge to the DJI Mavic 2 Pro. In terms of camera specs, the new DJI Mavic Air 2 sports a 48 MP camera sensor that can be binned to a better quality 12 MP photos.
The new DJI Mavic Air2 also comes with a much-improved sensor at ½.3" with 84 degrees field of view. Just like the first generation Mavic Air, it houses an f/2.8 aperture. Additionally, it could take regular videos at 4k resolution and could shoot 8K hyperlapses. When it comes to weight, the new generation Mavic Air is heavier than its predecessor and weighs 570g.
Additionally, the DJI Mavic Air 2 is capable of traveling at a maximum speed of 68.4 km/h with a maximum descent of up to 5 m/s. It is also packed with smart features, including support for OcuSync 2.0 out of the box. This feature is familiar to Mavic Pro users as it allows them to create a more steady attachment even at a longer distance and allows the use of DJI Goggles.
The DJI Mavic Air 2 also features Spotlight 2.0 and ActiveTrack 3.0 Point of Interest. These features allow the user to capture the subject within the frame. Apart from these, the new DJI Mavic Air 2 is equipped with a freshly designed remote controller. It has an aesthetic and ergonomic design that offers a better and more comfortable grip to users.
The new DJI Mavic Air 2 retails at $799. The Chinese drone maker is now offering a Fly more combo pack that comes with three batteries, six pairs of propellers, a set of ND filters, a Battery to Power Bank Adaptor, a battery charging hub, a shoulder bag, and a lot more for only $988.
