Melania Trump was once a model before she married now President Donald Trump. Her eating habits then kept her fit and healthy and it is still the same as what she is having on her plate now.
In an interview with GQ Magazine in 2016, Melania revealed she loves fruits and it is evident on her daily diet plan. Apparently, the Slovenian-born model tries to eat at least seven pieces of fruits a day to stay healthy and it was a habit that she started when she was modeling in New York.
FLOTUS only put her hands on fresh and organic ingredients as well. She manages to meet her daily calorie intake with either a bowl of fiber-rich oatmeal or with her favorite nutrient-packed smoothie before she starts her day with getting her 14-year-old son Barron ready for school.
Back in 2013, she shared on her Facebook page her favorite breakfast smoothie recipe. It is a blend of organic vegetables such as spinach, celery, and carrots, and fruits such as apples and blueberries. She also adds orange juice, lemon juice, fat-free yogurt, olive oil, and flax seeds to her daily smoothie.
Melania maintains a healthy eating habit rather than a strict diet. She also doesn't do fad diets. The First Lady believes that eating healthy makes her feel better and have more energy for her daily activities than depriving herself of food.
The mother-of-one depends on her healthy lifestyle in keeping her fit. This is also her mantra in maintaining a glowing, youthful skin rather than going under the knife.
"I live a healthy life, I take care of my skin and my body. I'm against Botox, I'm against injections; I think it's damaging your face, damaging your nerves. It's all me. I will age gracefully, as my mom does," she told GQ.
Apparently, her discipline in food intake coupled with hydration and pilates helped her get back in shape after her son, Barron, was born. Though the First Lady has been packing her daily food intake with organic fruits, she also indulges herself every once in a while.
In fact, Melania's favorite dish isn't particularly in her healthy eating plan. Her all-time favorite dish is the Chicken Parmigianino from the world-famous Jean Georges' restaurant at the Trump International Hotel in New York.
For her sweet cravings, she likes dark chocolate and ice cream. She believes that the body also needs these but only in moderation.
