People always think of princes and princesses as people with amazing poise and grace. But the truth is that the Royal Family members are just ordinary people with titles. Meaning, they are not flawless every single time as they can make mistakes like the rest of us.
Nobody showed how ordinary the Royal Family members are than Kate Middleton. The Duchess of Cambridge has shared multiple times that she lets her kids be kids. No extreme restrictions whatsoever.
Kate Middleton has always encouraged Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis to have fun and play outside. But when they do have activities inside the house, the Duchess of Cambridge doesn’t mind if they make a mess.
Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their three young children are currently residing at the family’s country mansion as they complied with the lockdown protocol due to the coronavirus outbreak. This is where the Duchess of Cambridge took photos of Prince Louis, which she shared on social media to mark his second birthday on April 23.
Prince Louis can be seen grinning at the camera and showing off his painted palms. While this shot was already enough to melt hearts, Kate Middleton’s shared a “reality” version of the snap where the young prince smeared paint across his face. The post was then perfectly captioned, “Instagram vs Reality.”
"Across the country in the UK, children have been drawing rainbows, pictures, and multi-colored pictures and sticking them in the windows of their homes to show support for the NHS and so Louis had done his hand painting,” royal expert Omid Scobie said on ABC's HeirPod. "There was this great outtake that Kensington Palace shared the day after the birthday where little Louis was rubbing the paint all over his face."
Co-host Maggi Rulli then added that the moment was very relatable. Parents know how messy young children are, and Kate Middleton’s post proved that royals are not prim and proper all the time. They can be messy too, and it's okay.
"Another good moment that really showed this realness, I think, right now and I think any parent with little kids can probably relate to seeing Louis with paint all over his face,” she said. ”I also love that Instagram post because they actually use the words 'Instagram vs Reality' which I don't think I've ever seen in a royal post before. To see them post that also just reminded me of things my family and friends post as well. It was such a relatable moment."
