Prince Harry and Meghan Markle turned their backs on being senior royals to have a “peaceful life.” The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are also known for keeping their firstborn Archie away from the limelight as much as possible.

But on his first birthday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle marked their son’s milestone by sharing a storytime video of Archie and the Duchess of Sussex. Although the couple received a lot of backlash after their move to Los Angeles, they give a subtle not to the UK in Archie’s birthday video.

The clip was released in support of UK charity Save The Children UK. The foundation then shared Archie’s birthday video and captioned it, "Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex reads "Duck! Rabbit!" for Archie's birthday. “Duck! Rabbit!" with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex (and Harry, The Duke of Sussex behind the camera), read to their son Archie for his 1st birthday. Happy Birthday, Archie!"

While it is believed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are starting a fresh start in Los Angeles, the video proved their continuing ties with British charities.

“Thank you #DuchessMeghan for helping us to raise urgent funds for our coronavirus appeal by reading "Duck! Rabbit" by @akrfoundation, illustrated by @tlichtenheld (published by @chroniclekidsbooks),” the post continued. “As the world grapples with the coronavirus pandemic, children’s lives are being turned upside down. By donating to Save with Stories, you can support the most vulnerable families in the UK and around the world by helping to provide early learning packs, supermarket vouchers, essential household items, and virus protection.”

Just like most people all around the world, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also can’t go out anytime they want due to the coronavirus lockdown. But reading about the global health crisis and how it affected a lot of people made the couple feel that they couldn’t just sit at home and do nothing, so they signed up as volunteers for Project Angel Food.

A previous report claimed that Meghan Markle’s passion for charity work is inspired by her mother Doria Ragland. The Duchess of Sussex grew up in Los Angeles and her mother encouraged her to be helpful to others despite not having “much.”

“Meghan didn't have much when she was a child, but her mom made sure they always gave back,” the source said. Director of Project Angel Food Richard Ayoub then confirmed the claim saying, “[Meghan] said she wanted to do something to give back on Easter and was talking to her mom and her mom told her that Project Angel Food needs help and Meghan said, 'Yes, brilliant.’”
