Prince William and Kate Middleton are two of the most popular and influential members of the Royal Family. Although their marriage remains strong and inspiring, it is certainly far from being perfect.

In fact, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s relationship is just as normal as the rest of us. They encountered troubles and hardships to the point that they even split up.

A royal biographer claims that one of the reasons for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s split was the prince’s partying ways. Jessica Jayne claimed in her 2012 book “The Duchess of Cambridge: How Kate Middleton Became A Future Queen” that Kate quit her job three years before their engagement to “think about her relationship with William.” She added that "Kate was further humiliated when a photo of William with two girls was published in the tabloids."

Many believed that Prince William was the good boy while Prince Harry was the bad boy in their younger years. So when the public thinks about which of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana’s son was the bigger player, the average royal fan would most probably point their fingers at the younger Prince.

But according to one of Kate Middleton’s friends, that wasn’t the case at all. In an old Daily Mail interview unearthed by Express, the friend said that Kate was ready to be proposed to by Prince William in 2007, but that didn’t happen, saying, “As far as she was concerned, it wasn’t a question of ‘if,’ just ‘when.’ She openly admitted that she expected a formal announcement to be made by Clarence House.”

But instead of a Royal proposal, the pair broke up. A royal source then added that the reason why Prince William didn’t ask Kate Middleton’s hand in marriage is that he "simply wasn’t ready to settle down" with her yet. Also, to become Prince William’s wife, Kate, allegedly, had to accept his playboy ways.

“He has always had a roving eye, far more so than Harry, who is meant to be the family playboy,” the source said. “That’s something Kate has always known and accepted - it was part of the deal if you like. I suppose in that respect; she would have made a perfect Princess of Wales.”

Prince William and Kate Middleton eventually got back together, announced their engagement in 2010, got married in 2011, and are now proud parents of three beautiful children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
