There is little doubt that the Marvel Cinematic Universe already has a lot of things planned for the next few years. One of the cool projects to look forward to is the Hawkeye series that will focus on Clint Barton and introduce his young protege Kate Bishop. But who will play the young archer in the upcoming Disney+ series? Although Hailee Steinfeld has been rumored to take on the role of Kate, the Bumblebee actress has just stated that she has other things to work on in the future.

There's a good reason why Marvel fans want Hailee Steinfeld to play Kate Bishop in the Hawkeye series. After all, the Pitch Perfect star has already proven that she can easily take on action scenes in films like Barely Lethal and Bumblebee. In addition to that, Steinfeld seems to have the right look and attitude for Kate and could easily take on the role. Unfortunately, it looks like the Edge of Seventeen actress isn't exactly interested in joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Hailee Steinfeld was recently a guest on SiriusXM's Morning Mash Up where she was asked if she has already been cast in the Hawkeye series. Interestingly, the Ender's Game star pointed out that she has other plans that don't necessarily include playing Kate Bishop in the Marvel show. Instead, Steinfeld wants to focus on a different aspect of her career.

"You know, right now, I will tell you that music is where my head is at. That's what I'm focused on... that is what is occupying my brain at the moment," Steinfeld told the hosts.

This might be disappointing news for fans who are already hoping to see Hailee Steinfeld working with Jeremy Renner in the Hawkeye series. On the other hand, people are still hoping that the actress might be trying to avoid confirming the casting news because the negotiations are still going on. In the meantime, fans will have to wait until there is an official confirmation from Marvel Studios.

Atlhough it is still unclear if she will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans can rest assured that Hailee Steinfeld is still playing a different Marvel superhero. She had previously provided the voice of Gwen Stacy aka Spider-Gwen in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and is expected to return for the highly anticipated sequel. The second Spider-Verse movie is currently scheduled for release on October 7, 2022.
