Amid the reports that Juventus would put Aaron Ramsey up for sale in the summer, former Wales manager Chris Coleman suggested to his former player - that the midfielder pick Old Trafford as his next destination. Coleman is convinced that Ramsey will be "a perfect fit" for Manchester United.

The Welshman moved from North London to Turin last summer but is struggling to win a slot in Juventus' first-team. For most of the season, Ramsey has been coming off the bench, and the situation trigged speculations he could make a return to the Premier League.

Per the Mirror, Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri is willing to sell the former Arsenal man, and it would seem that United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is very much interested. If the deal can be arranged, it would be to the advantage of Ramsey, according to Coleman, who worked with the 29-year-old during the Euro 2016.

Coleman said he understood Ramsey was gunning to win a place at the Old Lady's starting XI, but the season so far showed it would be a tight struggle for the midfielder.

"If it's not going to happen for him at Juventus he's definitely the type of player who can handle playing for Manchester United," the former Wales boss was reported as saying.

He likewise vouched for the footballer's ability, saying: "I've been fortunate to see the best of Aaron when I was manager of Wales. He's at his best when he's under a bit of pressure, when he's playing against the best teams and when he's playing in the big games."

Even as Ramsey has yet to impress Sarri that he can deliver for Juventus, Coleman said that his experience of working with the Wales showed the Juve player has the appetite to play competitively and win. The former boss insisted Ramsey still has the same fire, and the Red Devils could benefit from that.

"When you play for a club like Manchester United the jersey is much heavier than when you are with a smaller club in the Premier League. If you play for a big club you've got to handle that extra weight. He certainly has the appetite for that," Coleman said.

How exactly Ramsey would end up at Old Trafford will likely depend on the rumored deal between Juventus and United, which could see Paul Pogba returning to the Serie A side.

According to Metro, the two clubs can work on a possible exchange that will include Ramsey as part of a swap package deal. For the transaction to be finalized, the Welshman and Adrien Rabiot will be sent to England, and Turin will be getting Pogba back, perhaps at a discounted rate.

This proposal, said the same report, has won the endorsement of Juventus legend Alessio Tacchinardi.
