Fans are hoping that Motorola would do the same and with reports revealing the specs and release date of the Motorola Razr 2, it looks like the company learned its lessons well.

Android Authority reported last week that a general manager of the company in South Africa confirmed in a podcast that the Motorola Razr would get another iteration. The Lenovo executive also said that a new one is coming in Sept 2020, probably hinting the release date of the Motorola Razr 2. To get a better idea of what will the upcoming foldable smartphone would look like, XDA Developers shared some of its specs.

The sources of the site claim that the Motorola Razr 2 would house Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 SoC. The second-generation foldable smartphone from Lenovo would feature a boosted performance with 8 GB of RAM. The site also claims that the upcoming smartphone would receive an upgrade in its camera.

According to the report, Motorola Razr 2 might feature 48 MP rear camera and 20 MP front-facing shooter. Interestingly, it would feature solitary sensors, says XDA Developers. Additionally, the Motorola Razr 2 would reportedly run on Android 10 out of the box. It has a code name smith with XT2071-1 model number.

The site also claims that the Motorola Razr 2 would feature 5G technology support. The upcoming device would ship with X52 modem, which currently backs sub-6GHz 5G networks, the report adds. It is not yet clear if Motorola's next foldable smartphone would ship with mmWave 5G support.

The Motorola Razr features a slim 2510 mAh battery pack, which is not at all attractive. However, it looks like its predecessor might ship with a 2845 mAh battery, which is a welcome upgrade. Aside from those, several things remain the same in the second-generation foldable smartphone.

It includes the dimensions of the external Quick View and the foldable screen. Fans are hoping that Motorola would reinforce the Razr 2's screen and enhance user's software experience. Apart from the Sept 2020 release window, nothing specific is shared about the release date of the upcoming device.

It is also unclear where the Motorola Razr 2 would launch since the device is reportedly developed with North American and Chinese markets in mind.
