Sony's next-generation gaming console PS5 is nearing its arrival. The Japanese gaming giant is currently hyping up the upcoming console by launching PlayStation Indies Initiative. Along with the launch, Sony announces nine games coming to PS5 and PS4.

PlayStation Indies Initiative

Head of PlayStation Indies Shuhei Yoshida shared on the official PlayStation blog that he is working to introduce more independent games to the company's gaming consoles. The Sony executive was appointed to spearhead the campaign in Nov 2019. Sony hopes to highlight and support the best of the best independent games published on PlayStation and the whole indie community, the executive further stated.

The Japanese gaming console maker aims to make the PlayStation the best platform not only to develop but also to find and enjoy great indie games, Yoshida added. He also announced that a new indie title will join Sony's PlayStation Now service every month. This month, the service would welcome the indie title, "Hello Neighbor."

New Indie Games for PS5 And PS4

Following the launch of PlayStation Indies Initiative, Yoshida announced nine new indie titles for PlayStation 4 and PS5. The first title announced was "Where The Heart Is" from Armature Studio. The game is a story-driven adventure where players live as Whit Anderson, the game's main protagonist. Players are tasked to make decisions that could change Whit's life. "Where The Heart Is" releases on PS4 in the winter of 2020.

Meanwhile, "Haven" is an indie title for gamers who prefer co-op adventure genre. The game was developed by "The Game Bakers," the team behind "Furi." The latest title promises to bring more "chill" adventure that players could enjoy at their own pace. "Haven" is a fast-paced slash and dash game that allows the player and his partner navigate the new world and vanquish enemies.

Another title coming to PS4 is from Humble Games dubbed as "Carto." it is an adventure game where players have the ability to mold the world. The game arrives on PS4 in the fall of 2020. Sony also offers a title for puzzle game lovers through "Maquette." The game was developed by Graceful Decay, is is a story puzzle that allows players to explore the world and discover memories of a young couple.

Other indie title announced for Sony's gaming console includes "F.I.S.T," "Heavenly Bodies," "Creaks," "Worms Rumble," "Amina: Sony from the Abyss," and "Recompile." Sony announced last year that the PS5 arrives sometime in the holiday of 2020.
