Following the controversies that surrounded the late infamous Jeffrey Epstein, his links to Donald Trump have become an intriguing topic for many. As it happened, many are wondering how the United States President is linked and related to the disgraced financier.

The recently released four-part Netflix documentary titled, Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich, discussed the ties and links between the two personalities. As stated, they started as "neighbors" who ended up in an "apparent falling out," according to Esquire.

In the 80s and 90s, both Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein were, reportedly, "fixtures" in society circles, particularly in New York and Palm Beach. If you did not know them at that time, "you were a nobody," popular lawyer Alan Dershowitz stated.

Several sources said that Epstein was a constant at Trump's beach resort, Mar-a-Lago. The same is also said to be true for the now-incumbent President, who, reportedly, flew on the late financier's plane "numerous times."

The Netflix documentary also featured photos and clips of Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein "chatting and laughing" at a party in the former's club resort in 1992. Some publications noted that the then-billionaire mogul hosted the party with guests including the "28 calendar girl competition contestants."

Ten years later, Trump, reportedly, told the New York Magazine that he had known Epstein for 15 years already. He then described him as a "terrific guy" and a lot of "fun to be with" at times. "It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side," the then-real estate mogul added.

Two years, later, however, the falling out between the two emerged, according to RadioTimes. As explained, Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein attempted to buy the same property in Florida.

The former, reportedly, won the auction. But, he, later on, sold the property more than its original price. Sources said that this "spelled the end" of their friendship.

Between 2005 and 2008, several women, reportedly, came out and accused the late financier of "molestation" and "sexual pyramid scheme." He was "indicted" on sexual abuse charges. However, instead of garnering a life sentence, the then-Miami US Attorney, Alexander Acosta, reportedly, cut a plea deal with Jeffrey Epstein. He served 13 months in Palm Beach county jail. Per day, he was also allowed to go out for 12 hours.

When Donald Trump ran for the Presidential race in 2016, he nominated Alexander Acosta as the US Labor Secretary. The confirmation happened in 2017.

Two years later, the controversial plea deal caught up with him as the outrage among the public grew. Acosta resigned from his position two days after.
