Prince William was honest in admitting that he had a tough time when his children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, had to be homeschooled during the coronavirus lockdown. The Duke of Cambridge said that his patience was tested because he had to keep his kids engaged in their school activities.

Speaking on a podcast with former British footballer Peter Crouch, Prince William said that he learned he had less patience than he thought. The struggles of homeschooling also opened his eyes to how much his wife, Kate Middleton, has "super patience."

The Duke of Cambridge revealed that he and the Duchess of Cambridge do a tag team when it came to the children's tasks. He comes in first and makes Prince George and Princess Charlotte do their work, while Kate comes in when "everything goes wrong."

Prince William also revealed, with some embarrassment, that he cannot do Year 2 math. It's a breeze for his wife, on the other hand, because she studied mathematics in Britain's A-level in college, he said.

The podcast interview was recorded in two parts. The first one was done before the lockdown at Kensington Palace. The second recording was via Zoom, when Prince William, Kate and the children left London for Norfolk to isolate from the coronavirus.

It's not the first time Prince William and Kate talked about their homeschooling struggles. During a BBC interview a few weeks after the lockdown, the Duchess of Cambridge also said that it wasn't an easy arrangement

The Cambridge children apparently have such stamina that their parents have a hard time keeping up with them. Kate said that she feels quite exhausted at the end of the day when she lists the tasks they've accomplished. The family were pretty busy in their time in isolation. Aside from guiding the kids for their homeschool activities, they also cooked, baked and spent time camping and gardening in their backyard.

In May, Prince William also said that he didn't particularly like guiding Prince George on his math activities. He started to worry about how little he remembered from his days in school.

Meanwhile, royal expert Katie Nicholl said that Prince George is quite popular in school. He's an introvert compared with his sister, Princes Charlotte, and his much younger brother, Prince Louis, but his gentle nature makes him get along with a lot of the children.

Nicholl thinks that Prince George's football prowess is the reason he's well-liked in school. He plays for the school team and his parents occasionally watch him on the field. The sporty and talented budding athlete gets a lot of nurturing in his love for football from Prince William.
