Sony earlier shared fans with a new sneak peek at the PS5 companion DualSense controller. The official reveal also confirming one new controller feature that might disappoint fans. Sony maintains that the next-generation gaming console is bound for holiday 2020 release.

PS5 DualSense Controller

Sony Interactive Entertainment recently updated the official site of the PS5. The latest update offers a 360-degree look at the DualSense controller, which is a companion accessory of the upcoming console. With the new reveal, fans can now see the controller's overall look, including its back part.

It appears that the new DualSense controller is smooth and does not have any buttons at the back. Usually, players would use the buttons at the controller's back to execute complicated maneuvers in a particular game. Controllers like the Xbox Elite Wireless Series 2 comes with back buttons that most gamers prefer.

So far, this is the second disappointing DualSense controller feature that Sony has officially revealed to fans within the week. Earlier, the Japanese gaming giant confirmed that the DualShock 4 controller would not work on PS5 titles. However, it clarified that it could work on PlayStation 4 titles on the PS5 console.

While Sony made the clarification, it is not helpful, especially for those who plan to use their DualShock 4 on the PS5 to cut costs. Microsoft seemingly digs on this lack of compatibility feature of the DualSense controller recently. In a tweet, Xbox UK reminded fans that all of its available controllers would work smoothly with its next-gen Xbox Series X.

Other Details

It is possible that Sony might release the back button attachment of the DualSense controller after the arrival of the console-based on Sony's release pattern. The company released the back button attachment of the DualShock 4 at a time when most gamers are thinking of the PS5. Surprisingly, it became very popular among gamers.

If this is the case, PS5 and DualSense owners would have to wait for the controller's back button attachment. Sony earlier announced multiple PS5 accessories. It is highly likely that Sony is thinking about other hardware or accessories that fans would like to use on their PS5. At the console's launch, HD camera, media remote, and headset would be available for gamers to purchase.

Sony is rumored to make a major PS5 announcement this August. Earlier, the Japanese gaming giant announced that it is hosting a new PS5 State of Play episode on August 6. The main focus of the PS5 State of Play is on showcasing gameplay footage and announcing PS VR and PlayStation 4 titles.
