Several images of a Black PS5 DualSense controller recently surfaced online. This triggers speculations that Sony is preparing to release another variant for its next-generation gaming console's companion accessory. Sony officially unveiled the DualSense controller in the second quarter of 2020.

Leaked DualSense Images

The latest set of images allegedly of Sony's DualSense controller came from Twitter user Alexkyaw. The tipster shared images of the black PS5 controller with rulers to give fans the idea of its size. Since PlayStation 2, Sony has stuck to a black color scheme for its gaming consoles. But, the company earlier said that the PS5 is a departure from the usual with both the standard PS5 and the Digital edition sporting white color schemes.

Since many images show a black DualSense, fans could not help but speculate that the company might soon release a black color variant for those who prefer their consoles and controller in this particular color. Unfortunately, the tipster admitted that the source of this image is unknown, so fans have no basis on the veracity of these images. The Black color option is one of the most requested colors for Sony's PS5.

Major PS5 Announcement

Sony earlier held a new episode of the State of Play, where it released new gameplay footage and announced new titles coming to the PS VR, PlayStation 4, and PS5. Aside from this, a recent report in Bloomberg claimed that the Japanese console maker might make a major Ps5 announcement sometime this month. Sadly, the report did not reveal more details about the said announcement, but fans hope it could be the much-awaited price and release date details.

Although Sony has officially unveiled the PS5 hardware to the industry, it has not yet announced its retail price. Also, it still maintains the earlier revealed Holiday 2020 release window for its next-gen console. At the company's recent earnings call, Sony confirmed that the PS5 is still on track to its release window despite the effects of the novel coronavirus.

Digitimes earlier reported that backend suppliers of the PS5 have kicked off shipment. Additionally, AMD earlier confirmed that next-generation gaming consoles' custom processors have entered into production and have begun shipping. These are positive indicators that the much-awaited arrival of the PS5 is nearing.

Like Sony, Microsoft has not yet announced the Xbox Series X's price and release date. The company is anticipated to make this crucial announcement at the rumored Xbox Series X event allegedly happening this month.
