Multiple images of the Xbox Series X controller and its packaging recently surfaced online. These recent images reignite speculations that Microsoft is preparing to release a couple of next-generation gaming consoles this year. The rumored other console is allegedly called the Xbox Series S and would retail at a much lower price than the Xbox Series X.

New Leaked Images

The latest set of leaked Xbox Series X controller packaging came from multiple sources. One came from a reliable leaker with a Twitter handle Wario64. The insider shared the image of the Xbox Series X controller along with its packaging, who, according to him, came from Twitter user TinyRakan.

The tech site The Verge also reported similar information from another leaker. These leaked Xbox Series X controller's images suggest a lot of possibilities. One of which is the possibility of a white color option for the company's next-generation gaming console. Interestingly, Gamerant speculated that the leaked images could also point to the likelihood of another gaming console from Microsoft.

According to the site, these leaks are seemingly similar to the leaked images that surfaced online in the past month. It can be recalled that the Redmond-based company made a cryptic response to those images. The recently leaked Xbox Series X controller's images contain details stating that the controller would be compatible with Xbox Series X/S, Windows 10, Mobile, and Xbox One.

While previous leaks do not contain this text, the latest leaked images mention Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S. This is the first time that the community encountered a leak bearing the name of the heavily-rumored next-gen gaming console releasing alongside the Xbox Series X. However, whether the latest leak points to the much cheaper or lighter version of the Xbox Series X or another type of gaming console is unknown at this point.

But it underlines that the new Xbox Series X controller offers more options to gamers than initially anticipated. Microsoft earlier reiterated this in a tweet following Sony's confirmation that the DualSense controller would not work on PlayStation 4 games. Until now, Microsoft has not yet announced the price and the release date of the Xbox Series X.

Xbox Series X August Event

In a recent interview with Xbox Boss Phil Spencer, he hinted that all unanswered questions about the Xbox Series X would be answered this month. Fans speculated that Spencer was referring to another Xbox Series X event happening this month. Jeff Grubb of Venture Beat earlier confirmed this and said that the Microsoft event might take place after Sony's State of Play, which was scheduled last August 6.
