Jameela Jamil is calling out reports that say she's best friends with Meghan Markle and that they've been spending time in quarantine together after the actress criticized Prince Andrew.

The star of The Good Place said that she has met the Duchess of Sussex only "once ever," debunking tabloid reports that they are now best friends. She also denied that she's living with Meghan amid the coronavirus lockdown.

Jamil went on to condemn the British tabloid press for their racist coverage of the Duchess of Sussex. She said that the media in the U.K. are "hyperbolizing" their relationship to imply that she's only calling out their misogyny and racism out of "loyalty" for Meghan.

The actress, also, posted that she and her family have received harassment from the press. Jamil said that some of her family members received money offers so they would dish dirt about her.

The TV star reminded her followers about reports they read in the media, especially female celebrities of color. She said that the machinery behind these papers are "extraordinary."

Jamil, recently, posted on her social media account about supporting Meghan's call for women to vote in the U.S. election this November. Some Brits said that the Duchess of Sussex shouldn't involve herself in politics as she's embarrassing the royal family is apolitical.

The actress remarked that Prince Andrew is more embarrassing for the royals because of his ties to the Jeffrey Epstein. Jamil called the Duke of York the royal family's "resident pedo" after a woman claimed she was forced to be in bed with Prince Andrew at 17 years old.

Following her post, the press reported that Jamil visited Prince Harry and Meghan in their Montecito home with her boyfriend James Blake. The couple was seen strolling at the beach and the tabloid stated that the Sussex pair was there but did not venture out to the shore.

The only time Jamil met Meghan was when the Duchess of Sussex was guest editor for British Vogue's September issue in 2019. Meghan picked the actress as one of her 15 choices for Forces of Change.

Speaking with Grazia, the actress said Meghan apparently followed her work with I Weigh. She said that she wasn't told Meghan was behind the British Vogue issue until the last minute.

The actress described the Duchess of Sussex as "warm, kind and very LOLs" who also liked her TV series. Jamil said that this made her embarrassed because her character, Tahani, jokes about the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry in The Good Place.
