After a series of leaks and rumors, the Cupertino-based tech giant Apple might finally announce the much-awaited iPhone 12 lineup, according to a new report. The said official debut via a virtual announcement could reportedly happen on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. Interestingly, there are rumors that the said event might serve as just the platform for informing the public of when exactly plans to launch the iPhone 12 series.

Front Page Tech and reliable industry insider Jon Prosser shared on Twitter that Apple is planning to hold a virtual event on Tuesday. The said date would start at 9 AM EST, according to the insider. However, Prosser clarified in his tweet that the said date is not "locked in" until that particular day arrives.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman is doubtful about this information. He believed that Apple would announce the actual date of the official debut of the iPhone 12 lineup on Tuesday instead of the rumored launch of this year's flagship iPhone. Gurman also believed that the Apple Watch Series 6 might debut alongside the iPhone 12 series.

Earlier, Prosser said that Apple intends to launch the Apple Watch Series 6 and new iPad models through a virtual event on the week commencing September 7. But, in his latest tweet, he said that the press would involve not only the iPhone 12 or Apple Watch Series 6 but also a new iPad. Prosser also promised to share any update on his information about the alleged Apple Event on September 8 if there are changes.

Gurman's stance on the alleged Apple event on Tuesday sounds sensible. Like all other tech giants, Apple usually holds pre-announcement, particularly if a crucial and major announcement is in tow. It is also possible that Apple might just move the launch of the new iPad models to a simple press release on the same date.

It is worth mentioning that these details are unconfirmed and unofficial. As to this, it is smarter to take the information with a grain of salt. Also, even if Apple launches the iPhone 12 this month, there is a high chance that it might release in October or November. Apple earlier confirmed that there might be a little delay in regards to the iPhone 12.

Over the past months, several reports claimed that Apple's supply chain met multiple production delays. Regardless of the event happening on September 8 is a pre-announcement or the actual announcement, the industry is anticipating to see the launch of the iPhone 12, Apple Watch Series 6, AirTags, a smaller HomePod and new iPad models this year.
