Princess Anne resumed her in-person royal duties in September like the rest of the royal family and followed government guidelines to wear a face mask in public. However, unlike Kate Middleton's floral face mask or Meghan Markle's preppy design, the Princess Royal trumped the younger trendsetters with her personalized monogrammed face covering.

Princess Anne debuted a very simple white face mask as she visited her patronage, Citizens Advice Harlow. Photos from the charity's Twitter account showed the Queen's only daughter talking to the staff members with her face mask on.

But her white personal protective gear stood out because of one peculiar detail. It had an embroidery of her initial "A" with a coronet, her official cypher.

Of course, royal fans had to say something about Princess Anne's personalized face mask. One wrote that it was "the best looking mask" she has ever seen. Another said that Princess Anne was always the sassy and cool one in the royal family and her face mask reflected royal elegance.

According to Vanity Fair, Princess Anne might have just started a new pandemic fashion trend. She apparently wore her monogrammed face mask on another visit to an exhibit on marine life at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall this week.

Members of the royal family each have their cyphers, which they have turned into accessories a number of times before. Kate has been seen on several occasions wearing a gold bracelet with her "K" cypher. This was apparently gifted to her by her mother-in-law, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.

Meghan Markle also uses her "M" cypher for her stationery. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex used to combine their "H" and "M" cypher as a logo when they were still working members of the royal family.

Meanwhile, at 70 years old, Princess Anne might hardly be considered a trendsetter. However, the Princess Royal was quite the fashion icon at the height of her youth.

According to Hello, Princess Anne's fashion choices in her 20s and 30s were shocking, stunning and eye-catching. She was taken to wearing printed dresses with a lot of ruffles. Just like the Queen, the Princess Royal liked dresses that had bright colors. Even during her pregnancy years, she wore chic dresses that may be considered chic even today.

As she aged, however, Princess Anne's wardrobe also mellowed to a cool and casual style, akin to Ralph Lauren or something similar. Her outfits' colors are also more subdued in navy, dark brown or green, or cream and earth shades.
