Apple released iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 a day after its "Time Flies" event and you can now easily download the updates to your device.

A day after making major announcements in Apple's September "Time Flies" event, the Cupertino-based tech giant officially released iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 to the public, unleashing a host of new features to a range of iDevices. The company also released to the general public its watchOS 7 and tvOS 14 updates.

With the promise of new features becoming available, many Apple device users have expressed eagerness at getting their hands on the new software. At this time, the iOS 14 and iPadOS14 update should be globally available. Downloading and installing the new software is pretty straightforward and effortless.

To update your iPhone or iPad to iOS 14 or iPadOS14, you just need to tap on Settings, navigate to General and then tap Software Update. From there, you will see if your iPad or iPhone has already downloaded the iOS 14 or iPadOS14 update. If not, you can tap on Download and Install.

If you are wondering if your iPhone or iPad is eligible to download and install the iOS 14 or iPadOS14, Apple said that the update works well with older iDevices, such as the iPhone SE and iPhone 6s. The Cupertino-based company also said that if iOS 13 worked on your device, then it is likely to be compatible with iOS 14.

Aside from the iPhone SE and 6s, Apple also revealed the list of models that are compatible with the iOS 14 and iPadOS14 updates. The iPhone models that work well with the iOS 14 update include the iPhone SE‌ (2016), ‌iPhone‌ 6s, Plus ‌iPhone‌ 6s, ‌iPhone‌ 7, Plus ‌iPhone‌ 7, ‌iPhone‌ 8, Plus ‌iPhone‌ 8, ‌iPhone‌ X, iPhone XR, ‌iPhone XS‌ Max, iPhone XS, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro Max, ‌iPhone SE‌ (2020), and iPhone 11 Pro. If your device is among those mentioned, then you can download and install the iOS 14 and experience the new features it brings.

In the case of the iPadOS 14, Apple said that the update is compatible with all iPad devices that run iPadOS 13. These include the ‌iPad‌ Air 2, iPad Air (3rd generation), ‌iPad‌ mini 4 and 5, ‌iPad‌ (5th generation), ‌iPad‌ (6th generation), ‌iPad‌ (7th generation) and all iPad Pro models. Download and installation of the iPad OS 14 follows the same process as that of the download and installation of iOS 14 on iPhones. You can simply navigate to Settings, on to the General tab, and then tap on Software Update and your iPad will do the rest.
