The rumor about Apple's scheduled launch of the iPhone 12 series before mid-October is becoming widespread.

Whispered talks about Apple hosting a huge iPhone event in October are getting louder. According to rumors, the Cupertino-based tech giant will use the occasion to launch its iPhone 12 series, which includes the iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12, and iPhone 12 mini.

Since it is almost the end of September, industry observers say the rumors are likely true, though some details, such as the exact date of the event where Apple is supposed to launch its iPhone 12 series, are yet unknown. Nevertheless, an AppleInsider report stated that the event will happen in mid-October or even a few days before that.

It is not clear whether the information that the publication has on Apple's mid-October iPhone event where it is supposed to unveil its iPhone 12 series, is accurate. AppleInsider said a tipster provided them with these information, adding that their source told them the event is taking place on October 13, which is a Tuesday.

Last year, Apple's iPhone 11 event also took place on a Tuesday, and its recent "Time Flies" event also happened on a Tuesday. If you take these past events into consideration, you can say there is a semblance of truth to the rumored October 13 event where Apple is expected to showcase its latest iPhone 12 models. AppleInsider did not identify the tipster but they said their source works for a carrier in the Netherlands.

There was no way to confirm whether the information provided by the tipster regarding Apple's launch of the iPhone 12 models is true or not. However, recent reports that Eddy Cue, senior vice president of Internet Software and Services at Apple who is said to report directly to company CEO Tim Cook, appeared in an internal presentation about the next iPhone for a UK carrier, as well as its rumored 5G support, seem to lend credence to the rumors.

Rumors also claim that aside from the supposed Tuesday announcement of the iPhone 12 series, pre-orders for the new iOS device is going to be on October 16. Reports say that Apple will unveil the four iPhone units at the mid-October event, beginning with the base "iPhone 12 mini" model, then the 6.1-inch iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max models.

Industry observers say that all of Apple's new iPhone 12 models support 5G network connectivity and will also have LiDAR sensors. The new iPhones are powered by the A14 Bionic chipset which recently made its first appearance in the iPad Air. While all iPhone 12 models may include support for sub-6GHz bands, there are speculations that only particular models will have the high-speed mmWave element.
