David Alaba appears to be on his way out of Allianz Arena following reports that FC Bayern Munich has pulled out of contract talks. The two sides failed to reach an agreement despite Der FCB claiming that their offer to the Austrian football player was pretty competitive.

“We presented him with a really, very good very fair, competitive offer - especially during these times,” Bayern president Herbert Hainer said to BR24Sport. “We told David’s agent during the last meeting that we wanted clarity and an answer by the end of October, because we want to plan for such an important position and personnel. But we didn’t hear anything.”

The deadline for that deal was set last Oct. 31. The last offer made was said to be the fair and competitive pact but the Alaba camp found it unacceptable. Unless Bayern can come up with another offer before January, the 28-year-old will be free to negotiate with other clubs at the start of 2021.

Multiple teams are interested in the services of the flexible football player. One of the clubs reportedly eager to talk to him is Juventus, Sport 1 reported. Though other clubs can enter the fray, the only thing that appears certain right now is that the relationship between Der FCB and the camp of Alaba is beyond repair.

A public spat between Alaba’s father, George, and club president Uli Hoeness is well-documented. Aside from that, player agent Pini Zahavi has also been linked to complicating matters, branded as a “greedy piranha” by Hoeness.

With the mess seemingly out of control, one person who is still hoping to retain Alaba is Bayern manager Hansi Flick. Even if the outlook looks grim, he is hoping for a big miracle to see the Austrian footballer back at Allianz Arena next season.

Despite the issues between Alaba’s side and Der FCB, the 28-year-old continues to play well for the club. So far, he has made more than 400 appearances for Bayern since graduating from its youth academy in 2010.

With about two months to figure out if they will still offer a deal, all signs point to an Alaba exit. It will be an interest January window where other clubs are also expected to try and pry the talented football player away from FC Bayern Munich.
