The Crown continues to gain more popularity across the globe. After dropping its fourth season, reviews and reactions have increasingly become apparent due to the controversial plots.
Creator Peter Morgan already confirmed that the show would end in its sixth season run. This caused many fans and supporters to wonder whether the storyline will reach Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's love story.
Cheat Sheet recently released a report about the matter. Based on the head's assertions, the show will not depict the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's storylines.
The publication included the most plausible reasons behind this. Among all, it is Morgan's "disinterest" over the Sussex couple's love story that seemingly stood out.
Speaking to Vanity Fair, he explained that "not much time has passed" for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's relationship to play out. Accordingly, he thinks it is only appropriate not to talk about or include them in The Crown's upcoming installments.
Peter Morgan continued that he has always "committed" himself not to write about the current events in the lives of the British Royals as it would "feel journalistic." He, also, contended that the Duke and Duchess have their entitlements to privacy.
Royal author Angela Levin, also, previously revealed that Prince Harry himself does not want to be on The Crown's premise. Speaking to the Daily Mirror, she claimed to have discussed the matter with the royal-born Prince, adding that the British Royal Family members are "absolutely watching" the Netflix material. However, the Duke of Sussex, reportedly, said that he would "insist" for the series to stop before the storyline reaches him.
Reports, later on, said that it makes total sense why the Sussex couple would not like the show to feature their story. Considering how it has impacted the public's perception of the British Royals, particularly Prince Charles and Princess Diana, following the fourth season, they likely want to maintain their privacy as they continue to live their lives in the United States.
The Crown just concluded its fourth season course on Netflix. RadioTimes said that the fifth installment will likely arrive in 2021.
As for the timeline, it will pick-up where it last left off, which is Margaret Thatcher's exit as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in 1990. Accordingly, Season 5 will focus on the events that happened in the British Royal Family during the early '90s, which many deem as the royals' "tumultuous" period.
These include the Queen's annus horribilis in 1992, the three failed royal marriages, the Windsor Castle fire, as well as Princess Diana's bombshell interview in 1995.
