Apple may have to add the excessive battery drain problem to the growing list of issues with the iPhone 12 as users begin complaining about their iPhones rapidly losing power.
Apple may mark October as the time when customer excitement for the new iPhone 12 reached fever pitch and the month of November as the month when complaints about iPhone 12 issues poured in. Recently, some consumers complain about losing LTE and 5G Internet connections on their new iPhone 12, and today, several users complain about experiencing excessive battery drain while their iPhone is on standby mode.
Although it is normal for smartphones to lose battery power rapidly when 5G is on, iPhone 12 users who posted the complaint say that even if their phones are on standby mode with 5G off, they kept on experiencing excessive battery drain. Other users suggest the excessive battery drain experienced by some on their iPhone 12s may be due to their tendency to check out the new features of their mobiles, checking out new apps, restoring data, and using the phone's camera often. This is typically the case with some users when they get new phones, causing the batteries to drain more quickly. Those who posted the complaints, however, said that they are done with all these and are now using their phones in a normal way.
In the case of some iPhone 12 models, such as the mini and Pro, their battery capacity is considerably lesser compared to the iPhone 11 family. According to some, owners of new iPhone 12 models may be used to their previous models' battery capacities, which lasts longer compared to the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 pro. One of the first to complain about experiencing excessive battery drain on their iPhone 12 is user Master26A. Interestingly enough, while Master26A already expected that the batteries on the new iPhone 12 are not as good as the iPhone 11 Pro, the user still discussed how his new iPhone lost around 4% of battery power while on standby mode.

"I'm noticing that the iPhone 12 Pro is draining when idle with almost no background activity at a rate of 4% which is much faster than my previous iPhone 11 Pro, and to be honest a faster idle drain than I can actually remember from a new iPhone. First instinct was to disable Mobile data to see if it was a 5G thing, but I actually don't see any real difference from doing that (which makes sense as I've been on Wifi 98% of the time since I got it)," Master26A said in his original post. After posting his complaint, more than 1,000 other users said they also experienced the same issue about the excessive battery drain on his iPhone 12 Pro while on standby mode.
Some of the users said that in an attempt to resolve the excessive battery drain on their iPhone 12 while on standby mode, they tried turning off 5G, as well as background app activity and many more, but to no avail. At this time, Apple is already investigating the issue as to what is causing the excessive battery drain on the iPhone 12 as reported by users.
