Outlander fans currently face another hit of "droughtlander" as Season 6's arrival remains unclear. But, series leads Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe seemingly have "treats" for the fandom this holiday season.

Cheat Sheet reported that the two celebrities have "merry holiday" films, which fans may enjoy. Heughan has his Hallmark Christmas movie titled, A Princess For Christmas, and Balfe has her Netflix animated film, Angela's Christmas Wish.

The 40-year-old actor played the role of Prince Ashton in the material before joining the cast of Outlander. The film will, once again, have run-throughs on Hallmark starting December 4.

Fans may, also, watch the show on Netflix. Digital purchases and rentals are available, as well, on Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, iTunes, Tubi, YouTube, and Google Play Movies.

Sam Heughan's on-screen partner, Caitriona Balfe, also has her own film on Netflix. But, unlike A Princess for Christmas, Angela's Christmas Wish is an animated film. The actress lent her voice to the material for the character of Angela's friend, Dorothy's mother.

Reports said that the movie is a sequel to the 2017 film, Angela's Christmas. The premise of the film series obtained its inspiration from Frank McCourt's novel, Angela and the Baby Jesus.

The same publication noted that Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe have other film projects. Apart from their hit series, Outlander, and their holiday special movies, fans may witness their acting skills in their big-screen materials, as well.

The 41-year-old actress made a brief appearance in Now You See Me, alongside Woody Harrelson, Mark Ruffalo, and Jesse Eisenberg. She, also, played a role opposite Julia Roberts and George Clooney in Money Monster in 2016. Some of her other big-screen projects include Ford V Ferrari and The Prince of Desire.

As for Heughan, he starred in the 2018 film, The Spy Who Dumped Me with Kate McKinnon and Mila Kunis. In 2020, he played the role of the supervillain against Vin Diesel's character in Bloodshot.

Amid the "droughtlander," Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe continue to give updates about Outlander Season 6. Radio Times previously released a report about the series' movements these past few months. Based on the pair's assertions, it appears that they are currently "gearing up" for the production.

Back in June, Heughan revealed that they were supposed to start filming in May. However, the pandemic crisis has since halted the movements causing the delays.

Despite this, he stated that they already have the scripts and costume fittings. In the end, he emphasized that it is taking them a while to "get there," but they will certainly return for the sixth installment.
