It has already been confirmed that most of the cast of Thor: Ragnarok will be back in the upcoming sequel. However, it looks like Thor: Love and Thunder will also feature a character who was absent in the third film. A new report confirms that Blindspot star Jaimie Alexander will reprise her role as Lady Sif in the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe flick as well as another Disney+ series.

There is little doubt that Lady Sif was one of the characters that people have always watched out for in the Thor films. After all, the Asgardian warrior proved to be a powerful ally for the God of Thunder in the first two Thor movies. However, Jaimie Alexander did not appear in Thor: Ragnarok due to scheduling conflicts with her TV show Blindspot. Luckily, things have changed since then.

According to Deadline, Jaimie Alexander has been confirmed to return as Lady Sif in Thor: Love and Thunder. She will be reunited with Thor: The Dark World co-star Natalie Portman, who was also absent in Thor: Ragnarok. This could mean that the fourth movie will reveal what happened to their characters while the God of Thunder was busy trying to fight off his sister Hela.

The return of Lady Sif is a welcome thing for fans who were concerned that the character was killed offscreen after the fall of Asgard. After all, there were speculations that Sif may have been sent on a mission right after Loki took over Asgard while pretending to be Odin. Did Loki try to get rid of Sif since she is the one character who could see through his disguise? The truth could be revealed when Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters.

Interestingly, fans could also expect some interactions between Lady Sif and Loki. The report also confirmed that Jaimie Alexander is set to appear in Tom Hiddleston's Loki series. However, it was not revealed whether Alexander will appear in just one episode or if Sif will be a recurring character in the Disney+ show. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

The Loki series also stars Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sasha Lane, and Wunmi Mosaku. The show has not been given an official release date but is set to premiere on Disney+ in May 2021. Thor: Love and Thunder will be directed by Taika Waititi and is expected to begin production early next year. The sequel is currently scheduled for release on May 6, 2022.
