YouTuber Logan Paul has fired back at Canelo Alvarez for saying that he and his brother Jake were disrespecting the sport of boxing. The 25-year-old took exception to the Mexican’s previous comments who said that it was all about the money.

The jab did not sit well with Paul who is set to face Floyd Mayweather in February. And as expected, he hurled a couple of profanities the Mexican Brawler’s way when he spoke on The Night Shift Gaming.

"To say we’re disrespecting the sport, I feel disrespected especially as it’s coming from a guy who quite literally disrespected and spit on the ethics of the sport. Yeah, it upsets me," Paul said.

The part where Alvarez disrespected the sport was referring to the 2018 issue that saw Alvarez get a six-month suspension for testing positive for Clenbuterol. The 30-year-old blamed the whole thing on tainted meat.

Regardless of that explanation, the YouTuber understands that it is Alvarez’s right to express his opinion. Coming off a big win over Callum Smith, the Mexican is one of multiple authentic boxers who have stepped forward to speak on the latest invasion of non-boxers to the sport.

Aware that Alvarez’s lone loss was at the hands of Mayweather, Paul added that the Mexican may be sore because he got the chance to face the undefeated boxer instead of him.

"Just 'cause we're attempting to do something and put on a great show and putting in the work, doesn't mean you have to s**t on us. Like, what the f**k, bro?" Paul stated.

Despite the profanity-laced response, Paul admits he idolizes Canelo. He considers him one of all time. However, he did not take criticism lightly as most had expected.

There was one question that Paul did not touch, however. In a previous post from TMZ, Alvarez said he was open to having the YouTuber over for a sparring session. The boxing champion wants to see just how good Paul is inside the ring.

It remains to be seen if Alvarez will respond once more to Paul from here. The Mexican has better things to address, particularly his next fight.

Though most want a third fight with Gennady Golovkin, Alvarez needs to face mandatory challenger Avni Yildirim for the WBC title. Unless he opts to vacate the title and focus on GGG, it is a fight that is likely to happen next. Hence, Golovkin or even perhaps Paul will have to get in line.
