Many are comparing Razer Book 13 with Apple's M1 MacBook Pro, and getting them head to head is the only way to know which one is the best.

In November of last year, the world witnessed the entry of two machines, each claiming to have better speed and power compared to its counterparts. On one side is Apple's M1 MacBook Pro, while on the other side is the gaming machine Razer Book 13. Between the two, which do you think is the best one for you? Apple's new M1 MacBook Pro features the Cupertino tech company's own Apple Silicon chip, a custom chip based on Advanced RISC Machines (ARM) architecture and shares similarities with the A-series Bionic chips used in iPads and iPhones. Benchmark tests against some Intel-based machines show the M1 MacBook Pro pulling ahead. In the case of Razer Book, while its previous lines make them fit as gaming stations, the new model focuses on productivity rather than entertainment. Nevertheless, Razer Book 13 takes pride in having the same power as its gaming counterparts. Since the release of both the M1 MacBook Pro and Razer Book 13 happened in November, with the two claiming quicker speeds and more power, getting them head to head will determine which one is the best for you.

In the case of their form factors, there is a slight difference between the Razer Book 13 and Apple's M1 MacBook Pro. The former features a 13.4-inch form factor with slim bezels and a 60Hz matte display, while the latter measures a 13.3-inch Retina display and the same 60Hz refresh rate. Industry observers say that as regards the design, the Razer Book may have a slight edge over the M1 MacBook Pro because of the Razer's thin side bezels. However, most users look more towards the performance of the machines rather than their appearance. In this case, the M1 MacBook Pro wins hands down over the 11th-generation Intel chip that powers the Razer Book 13. In a Geekbench test, Apple's M1 MacBook Pro hit 1734 in single-core performance and scored 7531 in multi-core performance. In the case of Razer Book 13, it reached a single-core score of 1355 and managed a multi-core score of 5290. In OpenCL, Apple's M1 MacBook Pro hit 19412 while the Razer Book 13 scored 14761. If speed and performance is your foremost concern, then you already know which one is the best for you in the head-to-head battle between the M1 MacBook Pro and Razer Book 13.

The benchmark scores in the head-to-head fight between the M1 MacBook Pro and Razer Book 13 does not mean that the performance of the Razer is dismal. Both machines are highly capable of daily, routine tasks. However, as far as intensive computing tasks like photo or video editing are concerned, Apple's M1 MacBook Pro has the edge.
