Krafton Inc. is reportedly working on a couple of new games, which are sequels of the popular titles "PUBG" and "PUBG Mobile."

The information was recently leaked online by the Korean site MTN and was picked by insider PlayerIGN. The insider shared on Twitter screenshots of the report, as well as some of his insights about the rumored titles. The upcoming games are allegedly called "PUBG 2" and "PUBG Mobile 2."

It can be recalled that in early 2020 a job listing made by PUBG Korea revealed that it was working on something called Project XTRM. The team later played down the rumors, with the PUBG Korea Administrator claiming at that time that "XTRM is a new project that is being developed internally. There is no further disclosure yet, including who the director is." Some observers noted that the team could be working on a rebuild of the game.

However, it turns out that Project XTRM is the codename of "PUBG" and "PUBG Mobile 2," according to ProjectIGN. The insider also mentioned that "PUBG" 2 would be cross-platform with PC and Console. Initially, he said that "PUBG Mobile 2" would be cross-platform too, but later retracted his claim.

"PUBG 2" is reportedly being handled by PUBG Korea. Meanwhile, the devs behind "PUBG Lite" are the ones in charge of "PUBG Mobile 2." The insider backed his claim by saying that it makes sense since the devs abruptly halted updating "PUBG Lite." The insider has not revealed anything related to the official announcement of the games.

However, he hinted that a global announcement might happen soon. At the time of this writing, neither Krafton Inc. nor its affiliates have said anything related to "PUBG" or "PUBG Mobile 2." Wccftech reported that PUBG himself, Player Unknown Brendan Greene would not be involved in the development of any "PUBG" sequel.

Greene has been very vocal in the past that he does not want to make a "PUBG" sequel, and it seems that he is still uninterested. Greene is reportedly knee-deep working on a new IP at PUBG Amsterdam. Of course, fans should take this latest leak with a considerable amount of salt since it is unofficial and unconfirmed.

Meanwhile, "PUBG Mobile" India fans are still waiting for any news related to "PUBG Mobile India." The game was rumored to return in the region under a new name, but developers are still silent about game details. While it previously teased that a new game might launch in India, it has not said anything about it until now.
