Season 17 in "PUBG Mobile" is now live with the theme Runic Power. The latest update introduces a lot of new features and content to the hit shooter title. Interestingly, it looks like devs are not yet done with the game this month, and according to a new report, a new map is launching in "PUBG Mobile" as early as this week.

New "PUBG Mobile" Map

The latest information about the game comes from the official "PUBG Mobile" Malaysia Instagram page. The entire calendar of events for the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) is posted on the page where it mentions that a new map launches at 7:50 a.m. CT on Jan. 22. The launch will last for half an hour, the official page revealed.

At the time of this publication, Tencent has not hinted at what players can expect from this map. However, DoteSports speculated that the incoming map might be the Karakin. Karakin is a 2 x 2-kilometer location introduced in "PUBG" PC. If compared to Sanhok, the map is just half its size.

Also, only 64 players can compete in the Karakin map, whereas other maps in "PUBG Mobile" can accommodate up to 100 players. The Karakin map can be compared to Livik in terms of size. The exclusive Livik map can only accommodate 50 players. At present, the hit shooter title has five maps, which are Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok, Vikendi, and Livik.

New PUBG-Themed Game Confirmed

Krafton CEO Kim Chang-han told Bloomberg recently that the company plans to offer its IPO between mid to late 2021. Industry observers believe that the IPO of the company could be valued at around $ 27.2 billion. Additionally, the CEO shared that the company is looking into launching a mobile gaming title in the later part of 2021.

The game is inspired by "PUBG," the CEO mentioned. Earlier, the industry heard a claim that the company would launch the "PUBG Mobile 2.0," which is reportedly the sequel of the hit shooter title. Apart from the sequel, the company is also releasing another PUBG-based title, which launches on consoles and PC.

Krafton seems to have a lot on its plate this year and in the coming years. The CEO shared that it wants to launch a horror survival title in 2022, which would be based on the PUBG universe. The game is set three centuries into the future.

"PUBG Mobile" is available on mobile gaming platforms, including iOS and Android devices.
