Nate Diaz will never hold back as far as making his thoughts known. He was one of the many individuals who saw how his former adversary, Conor McGregor, fell to Dustin Poirier and reacted in the simplest way possible on Twitter.

“These guys all get finished all the time,” Diaz stated on Twitter.

Not long after that, the 35-year-old directed his attention to Poirier. He made it known that he wanted to face the winner of the UFC lightweight main event. With “The Diamond” coming out on top, he wasted no time revealing that he wanted a piece of Poirier next.

“I’m training to whoop your a** next. Be about it, don’t talk about it,” Diaz said.

The thing about Diaz is like McGregor, he has not been in action for quite some time. Also, his chances of landing a rematch are not looking good. The obvious choice right now is to hold a rematch between Poirier and McGregor.

The 32-year-old victor at UC 257 mentioned that he is open to a rematch. However, he is also interested in facing Diaz.

“I mean, a rematch with Conor interests me,” Poirier stated in the post-fight press conference. “[I’ve] always wanted to whip Nate Diaz’s a**, that interests me.”

For now, all Poirier wants is to go back home and rest. He is likely to weigh his options in the coming months and his next opponent will likely depend on who UFC president Dana White feels would be best. But right now, McGregor appears to be the logical choice.

However, Poirier did say that there is one fighter that he feels is not yet worthy to face him. He was referring to Michael Chandler who won over Dan Hooker in the UFC 257 co-main event.

“I’m sure something will make sense. But just right now, I don’t know. Me and Conor are 1-1, Nate Diaz got away and likes to talk a lot of s*** online. But I just got to go back home and we’ll see,” Poirer said.

Aside from McGregor or Diaz, one name that comes to mind is Khabib Nurmagomedov. The Russian remains the UFC lightweight champion although he is currently retired, there is growing speculation that he could come out of retirement and fight again. He is still one win away from going 30-0, something that his late father wanted him to accomplish.
