Marvel fans and followers continue to discuss the future of Black Panther 2 in recent months. This comes after the new paths it will take following the unfortunate death of Chadwick Boseman, who played the titular role.

Apart from the details of the plot, many individuals are seemingly eager to know whether Michael B Jordan will return in the sequel. As the public would recall, he played Killmonger, the main antagonist of the film.

Cheat Sheet reported what the actor had to say about the potential return. In his latest interview with People, he said that the film is something "very near and dear" to his heart.

Jordan continued that they "created a family" amid doing the material a few years ago. "So to be able to be in that world again is something that will always be on the table in some capacity."

Based on his response, it appears that Killmonger's return in Black Panther 2 will depend on producers and executives of the film and franchise. While no word has been heard yet from these key individuals, reports said that there is a huge possibility that Michael B Jordan will reprise his role despite his character's death in the original film.

The same publication regarded that the director of the film series, Ryan Coogler "has never directed a movie" without Michael B Jordan as one of the cast members. Hence, there is a chance that he might "at least" have a cameo in Black Panther 2.

Digital Spy recently released an update about the upcoming Marvel film. As reported, the production and cast will start filming for the sequel this year.

There are speculations that Letitia Wright might become the next black panther after the late Chadwick Boseman. The reason being is that "Shuri has taken on the black panther mantle" in the comics.

However, the actress previously stated that this is not something she wants to think about as of the moment. She noted that the thought of doing the sequel without Boseman is "strange."

Disney previously confirmed, however, that Marvel Studios will not recast Chadwick Boseman's character in the upcoming Black Panther 2, according to a separate report from Cheat Sheet. As explained, they intend to honor the late actor's legacy and "portrayal of T'Challa" in the sequel.

So far, these are the only details that have been disclosed before the public about the material. Once the filming starts later this year, more information will certainly emerge.
